President of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia Dr Miro Cerar Joins the Members Meeting of the Slovenian Business Club

The president of the government of the Republic of Slovenia answered our invitation and participated at the meeting of the Slovenian Business Club at which, within the discussion about the vision of the Slovenian economic policy, the Club’s members presented their proposals of specific measures for the improvement of the economic competitiveness. These proposals encompass measures in four different areas – in the areas of personal remunerations and social security contributions, employment relationships, taxes, and bursaries.

The government, as the President stated, will examine the presented proposals and answer these initiatives. We agreed that we all strive towards the same goal – the greater prosperity of the society as a whole. The President also said that the government and the Slovenian Business Club share a common fundamental goal since we both aim for a more competitive, predictable, and simpler business environment which will enable the development of a successful and socially responsible economy.

We are all aware that a successful economy is the most reliable way to increase employment, ensure safe old-age and adequate pensions, prevent brain drain, and to develop the environment for a better society in general. The President of the government emphasized that the Slovenian Business Club is the shining example that it is possible to be honest and successful in Slovenia, that it is possible to think proactively and optimistically, and that it is possible to create added value, jobs, and a higher level of social security.

The meeting was concluded in a positive atmosphere and closer cooperation in the future was agreed. The President of the government Dr Miro Cerar also announced the establishment of a closer coordination with the managers, members of the Club, which we especially welcome.
