Plastika Skaza Chooses the Winner of the Business Hackathon

The winner of this year’s International Business Hackathon is the Bachelor of Economics Tomaž Jug for his idea ‘Grow by Skaza’, which he presented with his team. At the 2-day competition in solving a business challenge for young managers and entrepreneurs, prepared by Plastika Skaza, which was attended by almost 100 managers from 8 countries, Tomaž Jug together with his group presented the winning idea – Grow by Skaza. The idea presents an innovative way of home gardening, which includes modular pots made of environmentally friendly materials.

In only 48 hours, the competitors were required to develop the entire business plan with a focus on an innovative product, which it would be possible to develop, produce, and launch on the market by Plastika Skaza by next year. Each presentation was allowed only five minutes and in that time they had to convince the seven-member jury with their innovation, originality, and the feasibility of the production. »The instructions they received were clear: the product must be environmentally friendly, degradable, it has to improve people’s lives, its design has to be attractive, and it has to be suitable for mass production. The Grow by Skaza concept was the most convincing because we can start producing it immediately and it also meets all other set criteria. This kind of product is needed in every household, because there will be increasingly less greenery and it will be thus transferred into our homes. Grow by Skaza will actually enable that,« said the executive director of Plastika Skaza Ana Laura Rednak.

All members of the winning team received MBA scholarships in the form of Entrepreneurship modules at the Cotrugli Business School as well as prize money.
