Last Saturday Entrepreneurs and Athletes Raised a Record Sum

On Saturday, the renovated Royal Bled Golf Course hosted the 7th Charity Golf Tournament with Anže Kopitar and Joc Pečečnik and his Interblock Group. At the event, a record sum of €110,971.80 was raised with the help of successful Slovenian companies, athletes, and individuals.

The event was supported by numerous companies, including some of the members of the Slovenian Business Club: Akrapovič; Arkas; Avto hiša Vrtač; Accentec; Avto Aktiv; Blažič, robni trakovi; Conditus; Cvetličarna Khaya; Dat-con; Dr. Glass; Elvez; E-branjevka; Elbacom; Eurocom; GEC Plešce; Golf igrišče Royal Bled; Icepeak; Iskratel; Jezeršek Gostinstvo; Kirurgija Bitenc; Lotrič Meroslovje; Lumar; Makplast; MennYacht; Mebor; Modri val; Mit; NLB; Plastika Skaza; POS Elektronček; Riko; Roto; Star Travel; Summit Avto; Vitraj, as well as Slovenian celebrities such as Filip Flisar, Luka Dončič, Domen Prevc, Jure Košir, Tomaž Vnuk, Peter Mankoč, Goran Dragič, hosts and stand-up comedians Vid Valič and Denis Avdič, the singer Ditka, the winner of the Slovenija ima talent Show 2014 Jana Šušteršič, the magician Magic Aleksander, and many others.

There was barely a dry eye at the peak of the evening when the amount raised was announced and symbolic cheques were presented to the beneficiaries. Under the supervision of the Red Ball Foundation, the charity foundation of the Slovenian Business Club, the funds raised were distributed among the following organisations: Društvo za pomoč osebam z motnjami v razvoju “Vesele nogice” for their project Zvesti donator, whose programmes can now help a greater number of children with special needs and their families; Društvo za pomoč osebam z motnjami v razvoju “Namesto pike vejica”, for one of their members, Nejc Robič, who suffered respiratory problems and brain haemorrhage at birth, the consequence of which is a severe form of cerebral paralysis; the Paediatric Ward of the Jesenice General Hospital for the purchase of a machine enabling 24-hour ECG monitoring; Zveza prijateljev mladine Ljubljana Moste Polje for their project Mladi in Evropa – a trip through central and southern Italy for 8–10 promising young people and a weekend camp for about 20 socially vulnerable families or over 60 people sometime in the autumn, and 3 young and gifted athletes: Lovro Plank (biathlon), Lucija Šušteršič (athletics), and Gašper Štih (swimming).
