January to Bring the Culinary Peak of Winter: Gourmet Cup 2018
The by now traditional event of haute cuisine on snow, the Gourmet Cup 2018 is approaching with the speed of light and will take place from the 27th to 30th January 2018. This year it will be even richer due to the professional part of the programme headed by Ana Roš, who will host numerous Slovenian and foreign guests, speakers, and culinary virtuosi.
The organisers of the Gourmet Cup, the Jezeršek family, have set themselves, as they always do, high goals for this upcoming event, too. The four-day event from the 27th until the 30th January 2018, in words of Martin Jezeršek, the general manager of Jezeršek gostinstvo d.o.o., “has the ambition to become the most important culinary event in the international region, thus we are even prouder to have a partner in Turizem Ljubljana.”
In addition to the opening Dinner on the Cable with no less than three TOP Chefs, who will be the talk of the upcoming year, and pampering with culinary delicacies by Slovenian and foreign top chefs at Krvavec, there will be no lack of fun on the snow. Once again, we will host chefs with Michelin stars. Yet the main news is that for the first time the Gourmet Cup 2018 will offer its visitors interesting field-specific lectures and two thematic round tables.
The professional and educational conference on Monday led by Ana Roš, the best female chef in the world, will include discussions by numerous invited experts primarily on two burning topics from the field of trends and development directions in hospitality and cuisine.
More precisely, on the topic of the vision of Slovenian gastronomy and tourist promotion through cuisine Ana Roš will be joined by Justyna Adamczyk, Chief International Office GAULT&MILLAU, Maja Pak, Slovenian Tourist Organization Director, Eva Štraus Podlogar, State Secretary at the Ministry of economic development and technology, Petra Stušek, Turizem Ljubljana Director, and many other interesting guests.
The second topic of the conference will touch upon crucial questions and problems of education and recruitment in hospitality, where participants are going to discover the potential of unseized opportunities with Ana Roš and Achim Schmitt, professor of strategic management and vice-dean of the famous university École hôtelière de Lausanne, and Arturo Sims, director of international consultancy company in the field of hospitality Vantage Hospitality Consultants.
Following the main guidance which is “experience”, Gourmet Cup 2018 is going to make magic happen in an unforgettable experience for the guests at Ljubljana Castle. At the spectacular “experience dinner”, they will be able to enjoy delicious flavours and excellent wines in the company of the best chefs: Ana Roš, Luka Jezeršek, and an Austrian rising star who is convincingly conquering the global culinary public. The number of participants at this dinner is limited.
On the last day, visitors can expect a true gourmet pampering on snow with a ski race and a conclusion appropriate for such apres-ski events, a lively after party.
