Anže Kopitar and Joc Pečečnik raise a Record Sum with their Friends

On August 27, 2016, on a warm summer night, Anže Kopitar and the main organiser and sponsor of the 6th Charity Golf Tournament Joc Pečečnik with his Interblock Group, together with numerous entrepreneurs, athletes, and other individuals committedly gathered funds until the last auction item was sold. The climax of the evening was when the amount of money raised was announced and symbolical cheques were presented to the recipients, a moment which brought tears to many an eye.

»It surprises us anew every year when we see how many caring people join our, now already traditional, event,« said Joc Pečečnik, the founder and owner of the Interblock Group, which was the main organiser and sponsor of Anže’s golf tournament for the fourth year in a row. »This time we raised an incredible €62,064.42 and thus enabled a slightly brighter tomorrow for six different beneficiaries of the funds.«

This year the funds raised helped Emily, a 14-month girl, who has been fighting neuroblastoma – a rare form of child cancer for several months now. In the next few months she will undergo specialist treatment abroad. Other recipients of funds are the 6 year old Zupan Jakob who is awaiting another hip operation in Florida this year, the Matevž Langus Centre for Training, Work, and Care in Radovljica which cares for children, young people, and adults with moderate, severe, and profound mental disabilities, the Society of Foster Mothers from the Celje region who take care of 130 children in foster care and who will use the funds to enable the children they foster to spend some time at the seaside in Izola, the Maribor Centre for Social Work which will also use the funds to help children in foster care, and  the Hrušica Sports Club which will build a multi-purpose sports-ground for young and promising athletes.

This better tomorrow was enabled by many, also few SBC members: the company Akrapovič, Anže Kopitar and his team AK11, Avto Aktiv, Avtohiša Vrtač, Blažič-robni trakovi, Conditus, Cvetličarna Khaya, Decor & Design, DEWESoft, Draguljarna Malalan, e-Branjevka, Elvez, Golf igrišče Bled, HIT, IcePeak, Kirurgija Bitenc, KZ Metlika,  Mit, POS Elektronček, Postojnska jama, Povše Metal, Riko, Siliko, Skaza, Skupina Interblock, Stare Transport, Star Travel, VAL 202, and Slovenian celebrities such as Peter Prevc, Tim Gajser, Srečko Katanec, Brane Oblak, Jan Oblak, Uroš Zorman, Jure Košir, the reporter and anchorman Uroš Slak, anchor and stand-up comedian Vid Valič, singer Alya, magician Magic Aleksander and many other people who participated either by playing in the tournament or by purchasing auctioned items. Last but not least the President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor who donated for auction a very special football signed by Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Sincere thanks to all the participants!
