Akrapovič was Celebrating at BMW Motorrad Days 2016

Akrapovič has been marking its 25th anniversary with a series of important events during 2016, and the latest appearance for the Slovenian performance exhaust specialist was at BMW Motorrad Days, where it was celebrating a quarter century since its inception with the latest range of products for BMW motorcycles and cars.

Held at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany this year’s Motorrad Days also marks another important milestone in Akrapovič’s history because this is the tenth consecutive time it has been part of this prestigious show.

To mark the importance of this event and the partnership with BMW, Akrapovič has taken this opportunity to display for the very first time one of the highly limited-edition exhausts especially designed to coincide with Akrapovič’s 25th anniversary. These exhausts will be donated to various charities and partners, which will auction them off or give them away to further their causes. The collection of 25 exhausts features five specific BMW products: four Slip-On Line (Titanium) exhausts for the BMW S 1000 RR 2016 and one unique system for the BMW M4 in the shape of the Slip-On Line (Titanium) with unique titanium tailpipes painted in matte black – all with dedicated anniversary branding and numbering. So join us to see what will be a very rare BMW S 1000 RR exhaust and for what is probably a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to catch a glimpse of this exceptional product.

Akrapovič also had a huge range of BMW motorcycle products on display, including the latest exhaust systems for the BMW S 1000 RR, BMW S 1000 R, BMW S 1000 XR, BMW R 1200 RT, BMW R nineT, BMW C 650 Sport, BMW R 1200 GS, and BMW F 800 GS, plus many others, all demonstrating the Slovenian company’s continuous drive to explore, invigorate, and expand the possibilities of high-performance exhaust systems through innovative materials, ground-breaking design, and the latest technological advances. Along with the collection of bike exhausts there was also a completely new system – and a range of unique accessories – for the BMW M2, a car that is rewriting the rules of sports coupés.

To mark ten years of cooperation between Akrapovič and BMW, the first exclusive OEM project between the two companies was on display. This exhaust system was developed especially for BMW for its HP2 Megamoto and signalled the start of the Akrapovič relationship with the German marque. This ground-breaking product was made with the aim of improving performance and enriching the experience with the instantly recognizable Akrapovič sound – an ethos that is still followed today. From this initial collaboration, the partnership has gone from strength to strength.

Akrapovič and BMW also have a strong racing bond, and the competitive element between both companies is highlighted with a number of bikes that are on display at Motorrad Days, including machines fresh from racetracks around the world, such as Ian Hutchinson’s Tyco BMW S 1000 RR from the TT Isle of Man. During the rest of the show there were also visits from motorcycle stars from many different disciplines, including Sabine Holbrook, among many others.
