Revolution of exhaust systems as Akrapovič presents new muffler shape concept at Intermont 2014

From October 1st to 5th, Cologne once again hosted Intermot, a world-renowned motorcycle, scooter, and e-bike fair. Akrapovič participated in the action-packed program of the main European event for motorized two-wheelers with an attention-grabbing stand that featured a lot of surprises.

Most exciting of all was the exclusive unveiling of our new muffler concept, which announced a revolution in exhaust technology development. Its groundbreaking shape features bold, aggressive curves that give this new muffler a dynamic sportiness that’s further enhanced by a trapezoid end-cap. The visionary design is instantly recognizable, just like the sound of our exhausts.

Other recent items from our state-of-the-art factory included an exhaust system for the BMW R 1200 R and a black Slip-On for the BMW R 1200 GS. Akrapovič products for Ducati (Monster 1200, Hypermotard) and Yamaha (YZF-R6, MT-09) also attracted a lot of attention, as did our systems for Honda bikes (CBR1000RR, CRF450R 2015 model year) and the release of classic Slip-On line mufflers for Harley-Davidson models with the new-generation Valve system.
Intermot visitors to our stand enjoyed a close-up view of the award-winning Ducati Panigale exhaust, which was recently added to the prestigious Red Dot Museum in Singapore. We also displayed the spectacular Akrapovič-equipped Movistar Yamaha MotoGP bike number 46, made famous by legendary rider Valentino Rossi, and other racing machines like the Ducati Desmosedici GP14, Kawasaki ZX-10R, and Aprilia RSV4 Factory also drew the crowds.

Our fans had a unique opportunity to test the sound chair and experience our unmistakable sound on the spot, as well as hang out with VIP guests Tom Sykes and Troy Corser. At our racing partner display, experienced adventure-seekers became off-road champions for a day by having their photos taken on a KTM 450 SX-F that belongs to U.S. Pro Motocross champion Ken Roczen.
